Wine is a program that will help you to run Windows programs on Linux or in this case Ubuntu. Wine is not perfect and not all Windows programs will work with Wine. This tutorial will show you how to install Wine on Ubuntu 13.04.
The first thing you need to do to install Wine one Ubuntu 13.04 is to go to the Ubuntu Software Center and find “Wine Windows Program Loader” as shown below.
Once you have found Wine in the Ubuntu Software Center you will click on ” Install” as shown in the screenshot below.
You will then be asked to enter your user password.
While I was installing Wine I noticed that it was taking a long time to install. If you find yourself looking at the screen shown below then minimize the window to find another window that needs an action completed.
The window that needs an action completed is shown below. You will need to accept the EULA for the Microsoft Fonts. Click “Forward” to complete the installation.
You will then be able to see that Wine is installed by finding it in the Dash Launcher as shown below.
